Breakfast at the Shelter - History

We have partnered with the 88.5 Foundation in their Friend in Need project to help residents and homeless visitors at the Marie Atkins Night Shelter in Kingston, Jamaica. Food, clothing and personal care items will be packaged and delivered to approximately 300 homeless.

Project Details

In an effort to expand their outreach efforts to homeless Jamaicans in the parishes of Kingston and St. Andrew, 88.5 Foundation has partnered with the I Fed One Foundation for this project. The Marie Atkins Night ShelterThe shelter caters to 300 homeless residents and guests who gather for breakfast each morning so the partnership is intended to enhance this experience for the diners.

Live Gospel music performances will preceed breakfast for the homeless guests and residents of the Marie Atkins shelter at 65 Hanover Street, Kingston, Jamaica. Live on TBC RadioAn outside broadcast by Christian radio station, TBC 88.5 FM, will include the radio station's DJ filling the air with some great Gospel music and a morning session of live Gospel music performances.

How you can participate Register volunteers will be assigned to various areas of service to assist with the following:
- Venue setup & cleanup
- Food distribution
- Gift distribution
- Information sharing
